Course Purpose and
Description:
Following
the First Hong Kong Urodynamic Workshop by Dr. Paul Abrams in 1999, the Hong
Kong Continence Society and Department of Surgery, Queen Mary Hospital and Tung
Wah Hospital have invited Dr. Richard Millard, Past President, Continence
Foundation Australia to conduct the Advanced Urodynamic Workshop this year for
health care professionals with experience in managing urinary incontinence and
urodynamics.
With the increasing awareness of care of urinary
incontinence and various urination disorders like BPH in male in this region,
there is widespread demand for the use of urodynamics. This urodynamic workshop
aims to provide health care professionals the most updated development in the
knowledge and skills in the application of urodynamics studies in the
investigation and management of various voiding disorders.
The workshop will suit both the beginners and those
who have had some practical experience in the continence care and urodynamics.
It will be suitable for those doctors working in Urology, Urogynaecology and
Geriatrics. It will also be suitable for nurses, allied health professionals e.g.
physiotherapist, who are involved in the care of incontinence patients.
This intensive one and half day workshop will provide
an intensive and in-depth experience in the theoretical aspects of urodynamic
study, international standards in measurement, practical tips and video-demonstration
of urodynamics case. Participants will be able to apply the use of urodynamics
in the assessment of lower urinary tract disorders after the workshop.
